Objectives

The BCCC Mining Committee shall have the following objectives:

• to advise the Board of Directors and the executive officers of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (“BCCC”) in matters and activities related to the mineral and mining industries;
• to promote the exchange of information about the mineral and mining industries among the members of the BCCC, including information about certain specific regulation, industry highlights, finance opportunities, exploration and mining activities in Brazil and Canada; and
• to coordinate events, activities and strategies of the BCCC for the mineral and mining industries, including BCCC’s activities surrounding the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada’s (PDAC) annual convention in Toronto.

Organization

• Chair: position to be held for 2 years. The Chair identifies and encourages concepts to advance the profile of the mineral sector in both Canada and Brazil. The Chair works collaboratively to lead discussion and strategically support bi-lateral knowledge of opportunities and business development in the mineral and mining industries. Can be re-elected.
• Vice-Chair: position to be held for 2 years. To support the Chair and take on a leadership role on the Chair’s behalf when required. Can be re-elected.
• Event Coordinator: position to be held for each event. Work includes organization of program definition of budget, speakers and invitation and support any other activities related to the event as requested by the Chair and/or Vice-Chair of the Mining Committee and will work closely with a member of the BCCC Events Committee.
• BCCC – Administration: BCCC staff or volunteer to offer administrative support for the Committee to assist in organizing meetings documenting decisions and organizing events.
• Subcommittees: the Chair and Vice-Chair may create up to 3 subcommittee to assist the Committee in carry on its activities.
