Objectives

The BCCC Sustainability Committee shall have the following objectives:

• to advise the BCCC’s Board of Directors, its executive officers and its members on matters and initiatives related to sustainability and the challenges and opportunities that sustainability may present to BCCC’s members;
• to explore and consider ways in which sustainability issues and initiatives can help address the economic and commercial demands of Canada and Brazil and help stimulate commercial relationships and activities between Canada and Brazil;
• to foster and promote the exchange of ideas, information and opportunities related to sustainability among the BCCC’s members;
• to provide a networking springboard for BCCC members to explore and develop strategic relationships that will better position them to pursue sustainability-related opportunities in Brazil; and
•  to coordinate events, activities and strategies of the BCCC in the sustainability area.

Organization

• Chair: position to be held for 2 years. The Chair will help to promote and guide the activities of the Committee in a way which can best meet the objectives of the Committee.
• Vice-Chair: to support the Co-Chairs and take on a leadership role on their behalf when required. The position will be for a 2 year term and is subject to re-election.
• Event Coordinator – position to be held for each event. Work will include the organization of the program, definition of budget, speaker invitations and support and any other activities related to the event as may be requested by the Co-Chairs and/or Vice Chair. The Event Coordinator will act as the point of contact for all matters related to the event and will work closely with a member of the BCCC’s Events Committee; and
• Secretary – a BCCC staff member or other volunteer to offer administrative support for the Committee to assist in organizing meetings, documenting decisions and assisting the Event Coordinator.
