Objectives
The BCCC Taxation Committee shall have the following objectives:
- to stimulate and promote the exchange of ideas, information, challenges and opportunities related to taxation matters in Brazil and Canada.
- To coordinate events, initiatives and activities of the BCCC involving taxation matters.
Activities
The scope of activities covered by the Taxation Committee focus on the following areas:
- Events: organization of a calendar of thematic workshops, seminars and short meetings focused on the discussion of taxation matters of interest to the BCCC’s members. The presenters will be tax practitioners from large professional services firms, lawyers, and specialists from industry.
- Publications: compilation and distribution of articles and newsletters intended to provide information on relevant topics and new developments in the Brazilian and Canadian tax legislations.
- Interaction with other committees: liaise with the other committees to assist on the discussions of topics involving taxation matters related to Brazil and Canada in their activities.

Organization
- Chair - will seek to formalize and implement the plan of action created during the planning phase in order to effectively operate the Committee.
- Vice-Chair – will support the Chair and take on a leadership role on his/her behalf when required. The position will be for a 2 year term and is subject to re-election.
- Content Coordinator – position to be held for a 2 year term. Work will include the organization of database development and delivery; event programs; business guide publications and definition of budget, speaker invitations and support and any other activities related to the committee’s action, plan as may be requested by the Chair and/or Vice Chair. The Content Coordinator will act as the point of contact for all matters related to the content development and output of the Committee and will also work closely with a member of the BCCC’s Events Committee.
- Secretary - a BCCC staff member or other volunteer to offer administrative support for the Committee to assist in organizing meetings, documenting decisions and assisting the Content Coordinator.
