The Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC), in partnership with FCR Law / Fleury, Coimbra & Rhomberg Advogados and Tendências Consultoria Integrada, will hold on January 17th, 2023, the event “Brazil Post-election: An overview of the new administration”. The session will gather specialists in Legal and Economic Consulting Services to provide an in-depth analysis of the perspective of the Brazilian business landscape and opportunities for Canadian companies, providing a forecast of Brazil’s economic scenario in the forthcoming year. Also, the event will showcase the most cost-efficient instruments available to Canadian businesses, exporters and investors.

After one of the most polarized elections in history, a new Brazilian government takes over the administration of the world’s ninth-largest economy. As a result, new trade and investment opportunities are rising due to the prospective economic, tax and fiscal reforms. In addition, comprehensive changes comprising the government’s structure and main initiatives are to be implemented.

On January 2nd, Ambassador Mauro Vieira, Brazil’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the main task of Brazilian foreign policy would be to put the country back in the world spotlight.

Former ambassador to the United States (2010-2015), to Argentina (2004-2010) and permanent representative of Brazil to the UN (2016-2019), the minister stressed it is necessary to rebuild the diplomatic heritage and return the South American giant “to the stage of international relations.”

He also pointed out that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s first instruction was to open the channels of dialogue blocked in recent years. In addition, said the environment, one of Lula’s primary commitments, will also be central to foreign policy. “We will only be strong if we act from the broad vision of a country committed to sustainable development,” he stated. The session will take place at the Vantage Venues, 150 King Street West, from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM (EST).

A second event will take place in Montreal with the support of the CCBC, on January 19th, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM (EST), at WeWork, 1010 Sainte-Catherine O Ste 200.

The Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce is also sponsored by Vale, Export Development Canada (EDC), 4BMining Corp., Lundin Mining, Brookfield, Cescon Barrieu, BMA Advogados and Toronto Stock Exchange (TMX). This BCCC event series is sponsored by MELLOHAWK Logstics and FCR Law, with the support of CCBC.
