4th BCCC Innovation, Science & Technology Forum | Fintech, AI & Health Innovation
The BCCC is proud to announce the 4th Brazil-Canada Innovation, Science, and Technology Forum to take place in Toronto on January 31st, 2019.
Brazil and Canada are witnessing a new era in research and development (R&D) partnerships, shared technological innovations, and researcher exchanges. The Joint Committee for cooperation on science, innovation and, technology (IST) has reinforced the potential for further collaboration in innovation-intensive sectors and both industry and academia, with recent Joint Committee meeting in Brasilia this past June. Both countries have mutual interest in developing strategic areas such as nanotechnology, energy clean technology, and smart farming, among others.
This year’s theme will focus on ongoing collaborations and future opportunities in IST between Brazil and Canada, focusing on the thriving startup culture. The Canadian innovation ecosystem is booming and has become a top destination for tech startups. At the same time, Brazil’s young population and talented workforce are technologically driven and increasingly interconnected.
In past forums, the BCCC had over 100 attendees, including the then Canadian Federal Minister of State for Science and Technology, the Honourable Gary Goodyear, as well as industry and academic representatives from Canada and Brazil. For the 2019 Forum, we anticipate a larger event with more opportunities for bilateral networking.
