BCCC Healthcare Forum | 6th Edition | Medical Cannabis Opportunities in Brazil
The Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) is pleased to announce the 6th edition of the BCCC Healthcare Forum to take place in Toronto on November 28th 2019.
The healthcare system in Brazil is one of the largest in the world and ranks among the top six markets in size for drugs and pharmaceuticals. With a population of 209 million, the expenses of both private and public healthcare combined correspond to 9.2% of the country’s large GDP. It represents a promising market for foreign organization to expand their international footprint.
This year's seminar will focus on opportunities in the medical cannabis market. Brazil is one of the top medical marijuana importers in the world - and British, Canadian, American and Chinese investors see the country as a large consumer of finished products. According to New Frontier Data and The Green Hub, the Brazilian medical cannabis market is projected to reach USD $1.4 billion per year, with a forecast that predicts the country will have over 3.9 million patients who could be treated with cannabis.
Brazil’s continued interest in the potential legalization of medical cannabis is part of a global phenomenon. Given Brazil’s growing ageing population and the continued need for alternatives in the treatment of chronic diseases, it is quite logical that the necessary regulatory changes will create a boom of new business opportunities in a country, whose economy is among the 10 largest in the world.
This is an excellent opportunity to understand the current challenges and opportunities for medical cannabis in Brazil as well as hear from experts and companies already exploring the Brazilian market.
