Brazil-Canada Talks - How to Invest in the Brazilian Agriculture Sector: Opportunities and Regulatory Updates
The Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) and Cescon Barrieu, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce Brazil Canada (CCBC), Global Affairs Canada, and the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa, is pleased to invite you to our next Brazil-Canada Talks - How to Invest in the Brazilian Agriculture Sector: Opportunities and Regulatory Updates, which will take place on November 4th, at 1:00 PM (EST) / 2:00 PM (BRT).
With a modern, efficient, sustainable, and competitive agriculture, Brazil has become one of the world's largest agricultural producers and exporters over the last two decades. Productivity gains, management efficiency, research, innovation, and technological development have revolutionized the country’s agribusiness sector. Brazilian agricultural production has been steadily rising over the last decades, due to the intensive use of technology in machinery, equipment, and genetic improvement. These factors have pushed up the productivity of farms, especially for commodities.
In March 2021, the Brazilian Government has approved new legislation establishing the Fundo de Investimento nas Cadeias Produtivas Agroindustrias - FIAGRO (Investment Funds in Agroindustrial Productive Chains). The proposal aims to increase both the scale and the sustainability of agribusiness, which will require, in turn, a greater volume of resources for investment and the adoption of the best corporate governance practices in the sector. In this sense, FIAGRO will be an alternative to improve the use of the agro-ecological potential of Brazilian farming.
This event will showcase in detail this new framework and the potential for foreign investors looking to better understand the opportunities in the Brazilian Agriculture Sector. After the presentations, we will host a roundtable discussion with the experts to answer potential questions and doubts from our audience.
We look forward to seeing you there!
