The Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce - BCCC cordially invites you to attend our upcoming webinar on Immigration Services: Startup Visa. The webinar will take place on June 12, 2023, at 5 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
The webinar will be hosted by Sonia Mirbaha, a leading expert in immigration services in Canada. The session will cover all aspects of the Canadian Startup Visa process, including eligibility criteria, application requirements, and timelines. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with our expert speaker.
THE SPEAKERS
Sonia Mirbaha
Sonia is an immigration practitioner and has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 2009. She has been providing legal services in the area of immigration law for over 15 years at private firms and as an in-house advisor. Sonia has immense knowledge of every area of immigration law, with a specific focus on corporate immigration.
Raquel Boechat
Raquel Boechat, the co-chair of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce IST Committee, is a communication and international business consultant expert with more than 20 years of experience building companies and enhancing brands' and leaders' reputations. Co-founder of companies and projects in Canada and Brazil, Raquel prepares cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills for leaders to expand their business to other markets and act globally. As a communication expert, she generates impact by leading the companies’ communication redesign strategy with a global vision, building a positive reputation, creating strategic leads and preparing leaders to join a business incubator in the Canadian market. As a businesswoman, Raquel also leads the Artemis Project expansion, a Women on the Move Canadian accelerator initiative focused on driving agile and innovative business outcomes between female entrepreneurs and mining companies. Raquel became a Canadian resident through the Startup Visa, an immigration program for innovative entrepreneurs. Currently, in partnership with immigration specialists and designated business accelerators, she helps other entrepreneurs to follow the same journey. Besides Canada, Raquel also mentors startup leaders in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe. Raquel Boechat is a journalist with a MBA in Business Management and training in Negotiation by CMI Interser at Harvard/ USA.
Miryam Lazarte
Miryam Lazarte is the founder of LatAm Startups, a Toronto-based accelerator that brings startups from emerging markets to Canada and scales them globally. Under her leadership, LatAm Startups has become a designated organization for Canada's Startup Visa program and recently received over $3M dollars from the Federal Government in funding to support technology companies relocating to Canada. Since 2017, the three-phase program at LatAm Startups has worked alongside over 150 tech companies from around the world to obtain validation in North America and launch their businesses in the Canadian market. A serial entrepreneur since childhood in Colombia, Lazarte is passionate about building stronger economic ties between Canada and Latin America, which is often an overlooked market of 800 million consumers. Lazarte is a member of the Program Advisory Committee for Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Small Business at Seneca College, working closely with Canadian and Latin American angels in pursuit of cross-border investment opportunities. Miryam has been recognized in the Canadian tech ecosystem with multiple awards, the most recent being "Newcomer Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019". The Newcomer Entrepreneur of the Year is an award presented by Startup Canada recognizing an individual that leads as both a newcomer and entrepreneur in the country.
