BCCC Healthcare Forum
The Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) is pleased to announce the 4th edition of the BCCC Healthcare Forum to take place in Toronto on December 7th 2017.
The healthcare system in Brazil is one of the largest in the world and also the fastest growing. With a population of 207 million, the expenses of both private and public healthcare combined correspond to 9.6% of the country's large GDP. The private sector accounts for 55% of the healthcare expenditures. It represents a large market for medical technology. The prospects of growth in the over-60 population in the next years encourage the expansion of health services.
This year the BCCC Healthcare Forum will focus on digital health and medical devices. Brazil is the largest medical equipment market in South America, being a major producer and importer. In 2016, the country imported US$4.6 billion in medical devices. Dental products and imaging diagnostics were areas with notable growth areas. This industry is dynamic and efficient, supplying 90% of the domestic demand and exporting to over 180 countries, generating around 60 thousand jobs in the country (US Trade, 2017).
Digital health solutions are also in demand in Brazil. In 2016, the country created its first Digital Health Cluster, reuniting services to generate more value to companies and develop start-ups (Exame, 2016). The digital sector has a positive growth prospective as the sector is in developing stage in Brazil, with many digital platforms being implemented in the healthcare system.
This half-day seminar will offer an in-depth program to address the current opportunities in digital health and medical devices as well as showcase successful case studies of Canadian companies already doing business in Brazil.
After the event, Canadian companies will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Brazilian experts in the regulatory sector as well as representatives of Brazilian private hospitals and associations.
This is an excellent opportunity to network with our members and partners as well as to expose your brand to potential investors and companies doing business in Brazil.
