Brazil-Canada Talks: Data Protection in Brazil - Main Aspects and Latest Developments
The legislative landscape for Data Protection in Brazil is changing. Introduced in 2018, the Personal Data Protection Law – broadly known as LGPD – set forth several obligations to companies involved in data processing, as well as penalties linked to failure to comply with the Brazilian legislation. Even though the LGPD is not yet fully in force at this moment, data protection has become a hot topic on the corporate agenda.
Organized by FCR Law and BCCC, this Webinar will focus on the main aspects of the LGPD, presenting the fundamentals of the legislation, as well as potential further regulations to be issued. In addition, the timeframe of the full enforceability of the new legislation will be detailed, along with initial plans for the to-be-created Agency for Personal Data Protection (ANPD).
