Brazilian Minister of Energy and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources of Canada will be the keynote speakers in brunch promoted by the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC)

TORONTO, March 1st, 2019 – Top government officials from the Brazilian and Canadian government will debate trends and challenges in the mining industry on Sunday, March 3rd in Toronto. The Brazilian Minister of Mines and Energy, Honorable Bento Albuquerque, and the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources of Canada, Paul Lefebvre, will be keynote speakers in the Brazil-Canada Mining Brunch, promoted by the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC). Over 100 executives and decision-makers from the public and private sectors are expected in the event.

The Sunday event is part of the 13th Edition of the Brazil-Canada at PDAC, a series of events held between March 2nd and March 5th during the 2019 PDAC Convention, yearly promoted by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC). The PDAC is an international convention that, in 2018 alone, attracted over 1,000 exhibitors and 24,000 attendees from over 125 countries.

The Brazil-Canada Brunch will bring together Brazilian and Canadian top officials and CEOs to discuss the challenging global environment, with trade tensions and the slowdown in the China economy in the last quarter of 2018, as well as the opportunities that emerge from digital transformation.

The event includes a 2019 outlook from Rory Johnston, Commodity Economist at Scotiabank and the panel CEO Talk Show, Global Mining Industry – Trends & Challenges, with: Itamar Resende (CEO at Sigma Mineracao), Paulo Misk (President & COO at Largo Resources), Eduardo De Come (Co-CEO & CFO at Mineracao Caraiba SA), and Rodrigo Barbosa (CEO at Aura Minerals).
